How much does an appointment cost?

Clients may be either self-funding or funded by their health insurance company.

  • For self-funding clients
Before agreeing to work together Philippa will be happy to share her fee structure with you. Fees will be discussed on an individual basis and in certain cases some concessionary rates may be offered so please get in touch to discuss your particular needs and circumstances.
  • For those funded by insurance companies
Philippa is registered with all major UK medical health insurance providers including Bupa, AXA-PPP, Aviva, Vitality Health, Cigna and WPA, and charges within the guidelines set by these providers.

If you are intending to seek funding from your insurance provider it is important to be aware that many companies require you to have a medical referral either from a GP or psychiatrist. There may also be a limit as to the number of sessions they will fund. It is therefore important you contact your insurer to discuss their criteria and requirements.

How do I pay for appointments?

If you are self-funding payment can be made by cash, cheque or via a bank transfer. An invoice will be provided at the end of each appointment and payment is required within 28 days.

For those being funded by private health insurance, an authorisation code should be obtained prior to commencing a course of psychological therapy. It is an individual client’s responsibility to ensure that they are covered for any planned sessions and should this not be the case the ultimate responsibility for payment of fees will rest with the individual client.

What happens if I need to cancel an appointment?

Philippa understands that appointments sometimes need to be cancelled. If a cancellation is made with more than 24 hours’ notice then no charge will be made. If there is less than 24 hours’ notice she reserves the right to charge 50% of the appointment cost. In the event of non-attendance she reserves the right to charge the full cost.
